Monchique is a quaint old traditional village in the hills above the Algarve coast. It's famous for its good food and breathtaking views. The hamlet of Cortez where the house is situated, consisting of just a handful of houses all owned by Portuguese families, is just 5 minutes south of the village by car, or if you prefer, 30 minutes by foot along quiet country lanes.
